Meg Weeks is a young artist who specializes in drawing and painting. Despite early aspirations to become an animator, she began working with and became quickly hooked on oil paints in 1998, inspired by works in Nantucket galleries and in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her favorite subjects are now landscapes and animal portraiture.

A member of the Artists Association of Nantucket since 2001, Meg now shows on-island and accepts commissioned work. She held solo openings at the Vanderbilt Gallery in 2003, 2004, and 2005.

In the fall, Meg will enter her senior year at Yale University, where she is completing a B.A. in Architecture. While at college, she is a member of the sailing team, a student guide at the Yale Center for British Art, and tutors at a local elementary school. A lifelong ardent Red Sox fan, she lives with her family just outside of Boston.
